GE Solynieve — Fandango de la Libertad

Fandango de la Libertad is a song with haunting sounds of wind and a hyperactive drummer, whose lyrics reflect the memory of two songs from the 70s that were a symbol of freedom within the flamenco. The first dates back to 1971, when the maestro Fosforito recorded ‘Cada uno por su lao’ accompanied with Paco de Lucía.

It was in the legendary Madrid tablao Torres Bermejas where Antonio Sanchez, Paco’s father, met Camarón before producing some of his best albums, including Arte y majestad (1975). On this album Camarón recorded a fandango by Enrique Morente, ‘Ni que me manden a mi’, an immense fandango in an album that marks a turning point in the career of Camarón de la Isla and Paco de Lucía.

Fandango de la Libertad is the Single of «Colinas Bermejas» (El Segell del Primavera, 2014), the last album by the Grupo de Expertos Solynieve. The video was premiered Nevember 3, 2014, on Vevo.
